The QPTS will be the first site in Queensland to use a purpose designed web based telehealth platform: Video Call. This is easy to use on a computer, laptop or tablet with a webcam, requiring only Google Chrome to access the web link. The consumer comes to the online waiting room via the link, and soon after is connected to the paediatrician for the consultation. This health care technology has been used in most other states, including for all telehealth services provided by the Royal Children’s Hospital Melbourne. It will be the first time it has been used for private practice in Australia.
